How Does Restylane Work?
The basic material of the Restylane family of products, hyaluronic acid, works naturally in your body as a filler. It also lubricates your joints and tissues.
Am I a Good Candidate for Restylane?
You’re a good candidate for Restylane if you have moderate wrinkles around the cheeks, mouth, and nose. Restylane can also be used to augment the size of the lips, which means candidates with thinning lips or mouth wrinkles may be an excellent candidate for this treatment. You should be in good health and have realistic expectations for this treatment.
How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
As with other injectable fillers, Restylane injections take about 15 minutes. A topical numbing cream will be applied to the injection site; after the injection, Dr. Sabharwal will massage the area to help reduce bruising and swelling.
What Results Will I See?
Results should be visible within one to two weeks; depending on the Restylane product being used, the results should last anywhere from six months to a year and a half.
Is There Any Downtime?
During the recovery time, you may experience some minor swelling, pain, and redness. This should subside within a day or two after your treatment. For at least 24 hours after treatment, you should try to avoid strenuous activity, sun exposure, and excessive heat.

- Overall good health
What to Expect
Our team in Kissimmee, FL will conduct an evaluation of your skin before performing a Juvéderm or Restylane injection to discover which areas would benefit from treatment and how many syringes will be needed. The regions of your face or hands to be treated will be marked with washable ink before the injection with Juvéderm or Restylane. If needed, a numbing cream can be applied before to reduce patient anxiety and discomfort. Once the medication is in the skin, the injector will give the skin a slight massage to evenly spread the Juvéderm or Restylane to all needed areas.
Other Considerations
Juvéderm and Restylane injection results are usually visible right after. It may still temporarily appear to be swollen and red, but you should be able to return to your normal activities right after your treatment. We recommend that all patients avoid strenuous activities, like exercising, for at least 24 hours. The results of Juvéderm last about 6 - 12 months in most patients, so you should schedule touch-up appointments to keep the appearance consistent. Restylane Lift can last up to two years. Juvéderm and Restylane Lift may be used with plastic surgery, nonsurgical treatments, and other wrinkle injections to enhance your final results.
