Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing is a minimally-invasive procedure that utilizes laser technology to rejuvenate the facial skin. The laser breaks down existing layers of the skin to allow fresh layers to be produced in their place—supporting firmer, healthier-looking skin and improved tone and texture.
Note: Individual results vary. We’ll confirm candidacy and create a plan during consultation.
About HALO
HALO is a hybrid fractional laser that delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to the same microscopic treatment area. This dual-wavelength approach allows your provider to tailor depth and intensity to your skin goals and preferred downtime. We often refer to the refreshed finish as the “Halo Glow.”
HALO is commonly used for
- Discoloration
- Sun damage
- Visible signs of aging
- Uneven skin tone
- Enlarged pores
- Poor skin texture
- Fine lines
- Scar revision
- Melasma (candidacy varies)
*Suitability depends on your skin type, medical history, and goals—confirmed during consultation.
What to Expect
Before treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied and allowed to sit (often around an hour) to reduce discomfort. During treatment, brief pulsating beams of light target damaged skin. The laser removes the outer layer (epidermis) while heating the dermis beneath to support collagen growth. As healing progresses, skin may crust, flake, and peel—revealing skin that looks brighter, healthier, and more even-toned.
Other Considerations & Aftercare
Even though laser skin resurfacing is nonsurgical, there can be downtime depending on treatment intensity. After more ablative settings, skin may appear swollen, itchy, and raw; new skin is often generated in about one week. With non-ablative settings, swelling and redness may occur and can often be helped with ice packs.
Aftercare essentials
- Expect redness and swelling immediately after treatment; you may apply ice for a few days to reduce inflammation and discomfort.
- Peeling and temporary dark spots can be normal as skin regenerates (often around one week, depending on the patient).
- Avoid scratching and avoid makeup until your skin has healed.
- Protect your skin with UV sunscreen to help maintain results.

Many patients see initial results between day 2–5, with the greatest improvement often in the first 2–3 weeks and continued improvement over time.
How many treatments will I need?
You can have one to two deeper treatments, or multiple less aggressive treatments spread out over time (often ~6 months apart).
