What is BBL?
Broad Band Light by Sciton is a noninvasive laser treatment that helps treat sunspots, blemishes, age spots, acne scars, rosacea, freckles, and more. This treatment helps stimulate collagen production to give your skin a more youthful appearance by tightening and firming.
How Does it Work?
BBL targets the deep layers of your skin using light energy. Your skin cells will regenerate and thus reduce the appearance of redness, sun damage, etc, and give your skin a smoother look. The BBL photofacial will also stimulate collagen, which further enhances results. Dr. Anita Sabharwal recommends approximately 5 sessions to see the best results.
The Procedure
Before the procedure, a topical anesthetic will be applied to your skin, in order to reduce any discomfort. We will let this sit on your face for approximately 30 minutes before we begin the procedure. You will feel a warm sensation on your face throughout the treatment, it might feel a little uncomfortable, but it should be tolerable. Dr. Anita Sabharwal is able to customize the settings to best suit your needs. The feeling could be comparable to a rubber band. We currently offer this procedure on the face, neck, décolleté, and hands. Depending on the area of choice, the time will differ.
After Care
Your skin might be a little red and swollen directly after the procedure, but this should go away within a fews days. The following are some post care instructions that are important to follow in order to heal properly and get the best results:
- Moisturize the skin; reapply sunscreen several times a day
- Limit sun exposure
- Avoid excessive sweating for a few days
- Avoid scratching the treated areas
